“I extended my design and illustration studies in Hamburg with one year in London, during which I shaped to typography and the printing techniques.
After graduating in 1992 I worked for several years as a graphic artist in the publishing of books and magazines. At the Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht, I then developed my artistic work. Drawing has a place apart. The physical impact of the drawing process still fascinates me. In Belgium, I go on with my projects (drawing, sculpture and installation). I search among others at the Centre of Tapestry in Tournai. For several years I guide drawing workshops at la Maison de la création in Laeken, les Ateliers d’art contemporain de Bruxelles and Academie d’été in Libramont. Very different materials are discussed and developed with sharing as a research base.”
“I studied the violin at the Liège Royal Conservatory of Music. In the course of my studies I also studied improvisation, and created an experimental string trio, Spelling Alphabet. Following my studies I have been working as a facilitator and lecturer with numerous bodies such as schools, social centres, cultural centres and orchestras. I work every week as a musical animator in the child and adolescent psychiatry unit at the Saint Jean hospital in Brussels. As part and parcel of my musical activities, I also act as a producer for two musical groups, Désir Fiorini and the vodou band Chouk Bwa Libète, with whom we receive a great reception from professionals and audiences.
In collaboration with Françoise, I adapt to business needs the idea of collective creation connected to a powerful group dynamics, which I have been instilling over the past few years in conducting the Dizôrkestra orchestra for non musicians ”
“Trained to group dynamics at CDGAI, I stepped in as consultant. Furthermore, the years I’ve spent improvising in Dizôrkestra, an orchestra of non musicians led by Michael, nourished my thoughts about change processes. Indeed, what we where living in this orchestra was far more substancial than the simple pleasure of making music together! Our rehearsals, and Michael’s enthusiasm, knitted the group which from there on was able to organize, adapt, invent and produce together almost everything. Whether it was a concert to set, a poster to create, or an internal meeting to hold, we would carry it out with more cohesion, confidence, joy and listening skill than I had ever seen previously. This is how the idea arised, for Michae and me, to work together in order to make use of this tremendous tool with other teams … ”
